Kota Bharu Kelantan

Kota Bharu is a city in Malaysia, is the state capital and Royal City of Kelantan. It is also the name of the territory (jajahan) in which Kota Bharu City is situated. The name means 'new city' or 'new castle/fort' in Malay. Kota Bharu is situated in the northeastern part of Peninsular Malaysia, and lies near the mouth of the Kelantan River at 6°8′N 102°15′E. In 2005, it had an estimated population of 425,294, making it one of the largest towns on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. By 2009, it became by far the most populous town on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia with an estimated population of 577,301 and continues to increase to the estimated population of 609,886 in 2010 thus make it the most dense town on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Kota Bharu is at rank of 10th in the list of the largest cities in Malaysia.

This northeastern Malaysian city is close to the Thai border, and is home to many mosques. Also of interest are various museums and the unique architecture of the old royal palace (still occupied by the sultan and sultanah and off-limits to visitors but viewable from outside) and former royal buildings (which can be visited) in the center of town.

The City is served by Keretapi Tanah Melayu's East Coast Line at the nearby Wakaf Bharu Terminal Station, in the town of Wakaf Bharu across the Kelantan River to Stestn Railway Station and Sultan Ismail Petra Airport, located in Pengkalan Chepa.

Durian Kunyit Jeli

Those who are very interested or durian fans might appreciate this news. Currently June to September 2011 at Jeli is the fruits season. Along the main road Kota Bharu to Grik (must thru Jeli), some villagers sell the durian and some fruits.

The king of the fruits, durian is one of the popular in Malaysia. Some people are very eager to find a very good durian everywhere.

In Jeli. what I can say that the durian lovers would appreciate it as the durian price here is not high or very expensive compared at town. Durian kunyit normal price range is between RM8-RM18 per kilo range. At town, durian kunyit are selling at RM25-RM45 per kilo.

While durian kampung 3 pieces at RM10 you can get there.

Try it first. Then you can judge it. I am sure you will love the durian kunyit. (some say Mao Sang King).

Jalan-Jalan Kota Bharu

Tomorrow I am planning to bring my family to Kota Bharu. The objective is:

1) Jalan2 cari makan. Sri Chiangmai Restaurant (maybe)
2) It is already long time we are not going to KB (since Feb)
3) Wakaf Che' Yeh (my sister and brother came for this actually)

This is the early planned in my head. Might be change subject to condition tomorrow.

IT Fair KB Mall Kota Bharu 4-6 Nov 2010

IT Fair at KB Mall end today. Today is the last day. I just bought one pen drive with capacity 8GB at RM42. Now is cheaper than 1 year ago which I think the price during that time almost near RM100.

Still remember the post on this restaurant? Chim Chum Food Village. Last month I was there. But today with my friends. 10 families. We delivered there at 6:00 pm after played bowling at KB Mall.

Same food as before

For the 2nd time visit, the menu and the taste still same. But the service quite bad. I am asking for one extra kitchen as we have 10 families with 8 kitchens. Ask few times, but there is no responds from the waiter. They said one table for one charcoal kitchen. Quite bad.

Anyway still enjoy the food.

Today, I went to Pacific Bowl KB Mall Kota Bharu. Played 2 games of bowling with friends. It was enough for me because very tired to play more. My scores just 140 points and 2nd game 128 points. Is it okay? Haha... Just to relax and take breath outside. Each game charge at RM5.50. Open daily at 8.00 am and close at 1.30 am. Pacific Bowl KB Mall have 36 lanes bowl.

31st October and 4th November 2010 Are Kelantan Holiday

Kelantan Goverment declared today is a public holiday due to Kelantan football team won the match Piala Malaysia last night. Kelantan won 2-1.

And also on this week another holiday declared by Kelantan Gov is on 4th November 2010, a polling day at Galas Gua Musang.

Good news as I work in Kelantan. hooraayyy....

But what to do today? I will think about it ....

Yesterday I went to Tesco Kota Bharu Kelantan. Lots of people there. Maybe because of the public holiday. Just bought kitchen parts, food, vegetables and many more. Some vegetables such carrot, garlic, and cabbage finish already when I was there around 4 o'clock.

Have you been in Pengkalan Chepa before? Pengkalan Chepa from Kota Bharu is just 10km. Nice place and there are few good restaurants. This time we ate at Chim Chum Food Village Restaurant.

Before I went to Chim Chim Food Village Restaurant, we were at Pengkalan Chepa Airport. Actually the restaurant open at 17:00 that's why we passed our meal first and be at PC Airport. I have some photos taken during that time.

Around 17:00 o'clock we delivered at the Food Village Restaurant. Only one customer at that time since they open their restaurant at 17:00 sharply.

Chim Chum might be means 'Thai BBQ' ala steamboat.

We prayed at the surau behind this restaurant. Around 19:40 we went back.


Total cost for this meal is RM45.80 only. Not bad. Not bad.... The main menu Chim Chum cost us RM15.80 per head.

I donate 450ml blood to Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab at KB Mall

Last night I am very tired to story about my trip to KB Kelantan. Actually after round-round in KB Mall we stop at HRPZ II team to do blood donation. You can refer to my previous entry.

My blood was taken around 450ml. Before this, the Dr said that 300ml will be taken for those their weight is less than 60kg while weight more than 60kg, 450ml will be taken.

Before I leave their booth (hospital KB), they gave me one plastic contained a soft drink and some tablet vitamins to take. For your information, actually this event (blood donation) was organized by MAA Assurance Company. MAA personal also gave me a yellow bag which they put a dictionary (CD), a card holder, MAA pamphlet and a pen. Here I put some photos of their souvenirs.

After that I went to Pengkalan Chepa just round-round and have eaten at a good restaurant. Chim Chum Food Village. Will story later... stay tune..

Trip to KB Kelantan; just take a breath

I wake up this morning at 6:15 am and after prepared everything around 8:30 am we (my wife & my hero) went to KB. We delivered there around 10:30am. We decide to go to KB Mall first then after that go another place. At the time, KB Mall Parking still easy to park a car. I am sure in the afternoon the parking become full and very hard to find an empty parking.

There are a lot of sales until 50% at Pacifik KB Mall especially on the women and man wear.



We just walking around level by level until my son got very boring and he cried. Then I have to bring him to Pusat Hiburan kanak-kanak. Atleast he happy for a while.

Around 12:30pm, I saw in the KB Mall there are Hospital Perempuan Raja Zainab team who are in charge in blood donation. I also take part to donate since the last it was on July 2010. 450ml already taken from my body.


Normally I will donate every 3 months. So in a year I donate 4 times. How about u?

Kota Bharu Kelantan

Today I am going to KB just wanna round-round and will try some good food there. Yesterday my wife told me that there is a restaurant at Kota Bharu which their steamboats menu is very good and delicious. Besides, we will be there for shopping. Maybe we will go to KB Mall, Pasar Siti Khadijah and Parkson (near TNB Tenaga and Pasar Siti Khadijah). Will blog up again....
